Abstract
This study examines aspects of the use, the nature and form most appropriate to note that the ability of students in Information Technology Diploma program, besides a little look at this aspect of English language proficiency.
Questionnaires were distributed randomly to students at semester 1 to semester 6 taking the Diploma in Information Technology with a specialization in Network and Programming regardless of academic achievement. Generally, students conscious understanding of a lesson and memorize it. Students are not sure if they understand the process of teaching and learning (P & P) controlled using the English language and English-speaking notes, they also lack the ability to communicate using language. Note that the preferred is a note containing a summary of the important notes also contain appropriate explanations provided before the class begins.
During the process of P & P students felt the use of mind maps can help their understanding of the clarifications and explanations by the lecturer. Polytechnic students generally have a similar qualification and basically can be considered to have the same academic ability but the results of this study can not be applied in all polytechnics in the country but requires some improvements on the questionnaire.
Case Study On The Type Of Note That Helps During Process Of Teaching And Learning In Polytechnic Mukah Sarawak
There are different types of notes that are often used by the Polytechnic lecturer during the process of P & P, however, not much is known about the types of students who are admitted to the polytechnic other needs and expectations (expectation) of the notes they received. Professors often use different types of notes as printed notes, soft copy, in form of books, prints of Microsoft Powerpoint slides, notes the important content, and more. Accordingly, this study was conducted as a basis for recommending the type of note to be used.
Mind map is one effective method of learning by the questions in the questionnaire used is already geared up to him. According to Chris Lee, a mind map is a useful exercise because it allows record ideas and thoughts randomly done without the need to make a judgment on it. This method can be used to replace the method of copying the notes as they are often used by students and lecturers in addition it can be used as a new approach to solve the problem, but also for any activity which involves thinking, recall, planning and creativity.
