This course focuses on the Physical quantities and measurement, Linear motion, Force, Work, energy & Power, Solid & fluid, Temperature & heat and Electricity.


Producing Video Clip For BB101 Teaching and Learning Purposes Using Windows Live Movie Maker : Code & Name Of Course: Bb101 – Engineering Science

Before innovation (Teaching - Learning)

  1. Engineering Science which is more similar to Physic is a very practical, interesting and alive as a subject and it should be presented and taught as such.
  2. It has been heard among Engineering Science students that this subject is difficult to grasp or difficult to understand especially when it comes to understanding the concept & principle in this subject.
  3. That is why there is a need for accompanying video clip as part of teaching & learning strategies and is also one of a way to complement the materials in Engineering Science module.
  4. The editing and design process to produce effective and relevant video clips has been carrying out using Windows Movie Live Maker.
  5. By using video clip as an alternative T&L approach to the conventional method (white board & marker), students will enjoy Engineering Science much more, and learn effectively.


After innovation (Teaching& Learning)

  1. Lecturer will make sure to prepare students before watching the video clip by telling them what to expect or what to look for and then following up with the discussion questions that tie to the lesson plan.
  2. By watching video clips during teaching-learning period, it enables the students to understand the principle and concept and also serves as a memory aid.
  3. By viewing video clips during teaching-learning process in classroom, it will also help lecturer saving time to explain certain principle and theory.
  4. The students’ response to this innovation is encouraging and positive. It raises their motivation to learn and they also show that they have grasped the concept and have found it not concrete after all.
  5. A survey is carrying out to assess the effectiveness of this innovation and a report was produced using statistical analysis in terms of frequency and percent.
